Using Cherry Books
Cherry Books is a personal reading tracker. You can use it without an account. By using it you agree to these terms; if you don’t, please don’t use it.
Your content is yours
Your books, ratings, notes, quotes, journal pages, photos and character pictures belong to you. We do not claim ownership of anything you add. Today it all lives in your browser, and you can save a copy or delete it whenever you like.
- Private by default. What you add is for you. Nobody else sees it unless you choose to share it.
- You are responsible for it.You are the only one responsible for what you upload, and by adding it you confirm you have the right to use it. Please don’t upload anything that breaks copyright or someone else’s rights — for example fan art or photos you are not allowed to use.
- We don’t check it. Cherry Books does not review or endorse what you add, and is not responsible for it.
- What you let us do. You give us a limited permission to store, process and display your content only so the app can work for you, and for the people you choose to share it with. Nothing more.
- Quotes from books.Keep short quotes for your own notes. Please don’t copy out long passages or whole chapters.
Copyright complaints
If you believe something in Cherry Books uses your work without permission, write to the address under “Questions” below, say what it is and where it appears, and show that the work is yours. We remove infringing content promptly once we are told about it, and we may suspend people who infringe again and again.
Paying
Payments are not open yet. No card is asked for and nothing is charged. The plans and prices on the upgrade page show what is planned; before anything can be paid for, these terms will be updated and you will be told clearly what you are buying.
Book details from others
Titles, covers, page counts and ratings found by search come from Open Library and Google Books. They are not always right, and they belong to their owners.
Please be kind to it
- Don’t use the app to break the law or to harm anyone.
- Don’t try to overload or break the search or the site.
As it is
The app is offered as-is, without guarantees. It is made with care, but things can break, and because your shelf is stored only in your browser it can be lost if that browser’s data is cleared. Keep a backup copy. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for lost data or for anything that comes from using the app.
Changes
The app and these terms may change. When the terms change, the date at the top changes too.
